How do we change the order of the fields that appear in each listing?

I’ve spent some time looking for a method to achieve this in the plugin settings, but I’ve had no luck.

I can see that switching the theme will automatically change the order of the fields included in the listing, but I can’t see any option to manually specify the order I would like them to appear in.

Ideally I’d like to achieve this in an upgrade safe manner without customizing template files.

    Hi @salpetriere,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

You can reorder the fields themselves under Manage Form Fields in the admin dashboard.

Documentation here should walk you through how to do it:
    businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/manage-form-fields/

The left hand side has an “Order” button that allows you to move them around.

Try that and let me know if you run into more issues.

Thanks for your help, this method worked.

Just to follow up on my previous post, upon looking over my website again this method unfortunately did not work.

I’m looking to change the order of the fields as they’re displayed on the front end in each listing. The method you mention above simply changes the order of the fields in the signup form.

Does the plugin facilitate specifying the order of the fields as they appear on the front end in each listing? Ideally I’d like to achieve this in an upgrade safe manner without customizing template files.

    Hi @salpetriere,

The ordering of the fields should affect BOTH the signup form and the list/detail views equally.

Are you using one of the BD themes? If so, that might be part of it…some of those themes are more opinionated and try to put those fields where they “look best” rather than give maximum flexibility.

But if you’re using the default BD theme, this shouldn’t be the case. I presume you’ve done the cache flush tests to ensure that the front end is using the latest data…
