Support » Fixing WordPress » How to Change text in Comments Tooltip, please?

  • I want to change the texxt from “Comment on postname” to “Post Your Comment Here” or similar.

I’ve searched the Support Forum fairly creatively to try to find anything relevant.
I also searched the various php files in the theme and the first part of WP but have been unable to find the text “Comment on”
Any suggestions how I can make this change, which seems so simple in theory, would be appreciated?
    Thanks. John WIlliams

  • Something like:

    <a href="<?php comments_link('', false); ?>" title="Comment on this article">Comment</a>

    Thanks for the reply.
Where and in what file do I put this text, please?
I’ve just started searching for comments_link but I cannot find it in the files I have checked so far?

This code is usually found in your index.php file. It can also be used in any other file where “the loop” is used. Where you put it is up to you but it must be inside the loop.

Check out the codex in the “template tags” section.
