    Thanks to this post, search exact phrase with relevanssi, I have recently added an exact phrase option to my search box. I have searched as best I can to find which file and/or what to add to my theme functions.php file to customize the search results string Post containing “search terms”. If ‘exact phrase’ is chosen, the string that appears on the search results page is Post containing “”search terms””

    I would like to change the quotation marks that appear around the search terms into square brackets. Any ideas about how to do this?

    Thank you.

  • Excuse me for replying to myself. I finally found it. On my theme’s search.php file, I had to look for the instances of

    <?php echo attribute_escape($s); ?>

    and change the surrounding quote marks for square brackets.

    It’s easy once you know what to look for….
