[Resolved] How to change page width?

    I like many features of Twenty Thirteen, not the least of which is responsiveness

    I want to use this theme for a site, the primary purpose of which is a community calendar: http://goldenvalleycalendar.com

    I may add a right sidebar with widgets to submit community events, etc.

    How can I make this homepage full width _without_ affecting responsiveness?

    It’s important that this site is readily accessible from mobile devices.

    Please, advise. Thank you

    You’ll need to start by creating a child theme – as it’s very inadvisable to modify the default theme files – your changes will be lost when WP is updated.

    Yes, of course

    But, what escapes me, not yet comfortable with all of the HTML5 stuff, is what code to change and what code not to change

    I don’t see a child theme on your site. Once that’s done, someone can help you with the modifications.

    OK, child theme active

    Cool – so try adding this to the style.css file under the @import line – you can adjust that max-width as you like.

    .home .entry-header,
    .home .entry-content,
    .home .entry-summary,
    .home .entry-meta {
        margin: 0 auto;
        max-width: 904px;
        width: 100%;
    }

    Hi, I have a similar issue. I have tried this, however, it doesn’t change the content width. Doe anyone know the CSS to change the width of the content, inside of the pages?

    Using twentythirteen with a child theme as well. Thanks.

    Nevermind. Got it figured. I wanted to do the same for all pages. This only changed the home page. I removed the .home, and it works like a charmm.

    .entry-header,
    .entry-content,
    .entry-summary,
    .entry-meta {
    margin: 0 auto;
    max-width: 904px;
    width: 100%;
    }

    Hi There,

    How do I change the content are for all the pages. This only affects the home page. Also, How do I keep the header menu in those dimensions as well. I would like the content area on all pages at 960px and also the footer widget and top main navigation need to fall in those dimensions.

    Thank you for your help!

    LeadDogAD, See my previous post. “remove the ‘.home'” This is exactly what I just posted about. Although we may need to add additional style code for the header.
