• In the menu, under Categories, each category is assigned a title= attribute such as View all posts filed under (followed by the category name). I’ve looked high and low to find where I can change View all posts filed under to some other text, but cannot find this. Is there one particular template that has this hard-coded in it? I cannot find it, but I assume it must be there somewhere, right?

  • It is hard-coded in /wp-includes/template-functions-category.php – around line 73 and below.
On the other hand – but this works only for the menus! – if you are in the admin page, click Categories, then chose the one you want to Edit, and put in the Description field whatever you like. When you hover over the catgeory names in the menu = you’ll see what you put in the description filed.
At the “Filed under…” line the title will come from the hard code above 🙂

So simple to edit the description…amazing the things one overlooks. Thanks!
