Support » Installing WordPress » How to change blog from directory to root and how to upload?

  • I actually have two issues:

First…. I was not able to make a backup copy of the
blog before the service was canceled… had to download
    all files individually with ftp.

Second… the blog was hosted at domain.com/weblog

On new site, the blog will be installed in root directory so, will be domain.com

What do I need to change so that the blog will show up in it’s new home?

How do I upload and set up the blog with all of these individual files?

I’m most appreciative of your help… I’m just about bald right now (pulling my hair out in frustration 🙂 Thanks

  • Do you have backup of your database as that is where all your data is saved not in files.

If you do not have backup database then I am sorry to say that you will not have content on your website. You can contact the host see if they can give a backup of database.
