• For my clients I always used my API-key to set up Akismet. Now I have some blogs with the plugin WordPress.com Stats. I got a new API-key for my client with their own login data but I can’t seem to associate the blog to this new API.

The Akismet confirms the new API key (the clients key) but dashboard/blog stats says: You are not a member of this blog. I seem to be locked out. When I login wp-admin with my clients login data the result is the same.

I would like the client to login wordpress Stats using their own (API-key and) login data.
Is there a way to get to the data WordPress Stats keeps for my blogs?

    Thanks,

    Robbert

  • Bumping this post. I need to be able to do this too. I installed the plugin with one API key and realized that I want to use a different API key. I am able to change it for Akismet very easily. But there is not interface to managing the API key for Stats.

Speaking of the API key, where do I find it; I haven’t been able to finish setting up Akismet because I am new to WP, unfamiliar with certain things, so I don’t know where to find this API key.

Can someone help me here, throw me a bone? 🙂

    UPDATE TO MY POST ABOVE:

I have answered this one on my own….

Given that, for some mysterious reason, this thread currently shows up as the top search result for changing API keys in WP stats, it might be useful to include a link to the FAQ’s take on this.
