    Hi Folks,

We have a flower shop that delivers only to certain suburbs.

    https://amanoflorals.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/shipping.jpg

If the suburb is not within any of the shipping zones, we don’t want to offer shipping at all.

However, we recently had an order where a shipping suburb was used that wasn’t in any of the shipping zones, but WooCommerce used the last shipping zone for shipping cost (even though the shipping suburb wasn’t listed in that shipping zone).

How do we enforce the idea that if the shipping suburb is not in any of our shippping zones, we won’t be able to offer shipping?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

The shipping zone is matched from the top down from your Shipping zone configuration. If a suburb is matched to a shipping zone, I’d suggest rechecking the shipping zone first to confirm it’s excluded from the zone.

If it is already not included, then this could be a conflict on your site that prevents shipping from working properly. The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin is to temporarily switch your theme to Storefront (https://woocommerce.com/products/storefront/?aff=10486&cid=1131038) and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. Finally, test to see if the issue is resolved by confirm that the suburb that isn’t included in any shipping zone returns the message saying there’s no available shipping method.

To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, continue to the next step – reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

Here’s a more extensive explanation in our docs: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Meks Quick Plugin Disabler is a plugin you can install which will remember what plugins you currently have active so it’s easy to switch them back on. Link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/meks-quick-plugin-disabler/

You can clone your site to a staging environment and perform tests without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin. Link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/
