    Hi,
I have created topics in forums and sub-forums set to closed and approval. However, there are many spam users who are simply posting links to the topics I have created in the reply section. I want to avoid that.
In settings I have set the approval to guests & normal users. Do this setting also apply to the replies to the created topics?
Is there a way , I can simply disable posting of links also. Or simply disable replies to the topics.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @sarangsss29

Approval is currently only available for topics. But you can disable replys to topics if you close a certain topic.

As an alternative you can also try to integrate an additional captcha into the post-creation process using the following ReCaptcha plugin:

All my topics are closed. Buts users are still enable to reply. Where is the option to disable replies completely?
    Thanks.

@sarangsss29 Do you mean they still can create new posts in topics or that they can create new topics?

You can also close forums in the structure-administration so people cannot create new topics anymore.

Please also keep in mind that moderators can reply also in closed topics.

Yes exactly, they can still create new posts in topics. They can’t create new topics though, but reply to the already created topics and put links in it.

You can also close forums in the structure-administration so people cannot create new topics anymore.

I have already done that. Have no moderators.

@sarangsss29 To prevent that users can create new posts, you have to close the topic(s).

So I need to go to each topic and manually close each topic? That’s a long long process.
I should be able to close all topics at once from the dashboard.
Also, I don’t know how close or open symbols work.
I clicked the close icon on a topic and now the icon displays as open. So is it close or open?

As an alternative you can just ban all other users by using the bulk-actions so they are not able to post anymore.

The button just represents what is happening when you do it. When it says “Close”, then you close it after clicking on it. When it says “open”, it will open. A closed topic in the forum-list will also be marked as closed.
