  • Resolved HolaEffect

I’ve noticed that fairly often a transaction ID is tracked twice or more, leading to inaccurate reports.

Since this is a common issue, I wonder if you have a solution for it? How can I make sure each transaction is tracked only once?

  • Hi,

    I’m getting the same problem.
I’ve found that the duplicates are from mobile purchases.

    I’m wondering whether the user:
    – selects products
    – goes to checkout
    – does payment
    – directs to page with the tracking code
… then leaves that page open (i.e. press Home on smartphone)

Then, say the next day, the return to smartphone browser and the browser automatically does a page refresh and that fires the tracking code again.

I found today that one transaction was highly likely the same person … they had exact same device (a Huawei P20) and same transaction value … but on the next day.

I’d be keen to know if there is something I can do to stop this happening.

    Hi @holaeffect & @emonkey64,

Thank you for writing to us!

@holaeffect, we did a quick look of your store & found that our plugin is working well on the store up to checkout page. However, we’re unable to test transaction page due to payment method.

We request both of you to contact us at analytics2(at)tatvic(dot)com so we can assist you further.

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi @holaeffect ,

Did you get a solution to this?
My store is still randomly getting duplicates.

    Hey @emonkey64,

I still get random duplicates, but I hadn’t responded to @tatvic‘s email where they requested a coupon to make a sale and analytics access. So it’s not due to lack of effort on their part.

Our sites are getting the duplicate order tracking issue too.

When are you planning to look into this ?

    Hi @kihoshin,

Thank you for writing to us!

Duplicate transaction happens for mobile sites only & we have tried to do some sorts of solutions for that but it didn’t work. The main hurdle is we are using the Native implementation method & the workaround is not feasible for the mobile site.

The same issue there for the premium version plugin but in that we are using GTM so we have resolved it there using GTM. Our team continuously trying to get the solution for the same but not sure about the timeline until we found a perfect solution.
