[Resolved] How to automatically rename file name when publishing file

  • Hi,

When using bloging tool such as Windows Live Writer, I notice that whatever file / photo we attached in the post, the file name will remain as it is on the server.

For that, we need to be cautious that the file name must be unique.
The issue comes when we copy-paste picture from powerpoint OR using snipping tools to paste the file, it will automatically name it as “IMAGE.PNG”. As the result, it overrides one and another files as well.

I actually expect the filename will be automatically rename to some sort of GUID or any unique name like what Community Server Blog Engine does. But look like it doesn’t provided out of the box.

Try to search on the internet but still can’t find appropriate solution.

Wondering if someone encounters similar issue and have some workaround. Appreciate the response.

    Regards,
    Wely
