How to assign php variables for the result of a custom query?

    I am trying to display the result of a custom query. Unfortunately I can’t find anything on assigning php variables using the ‘wpdb->table.field’ format. I keep running into errors.

    Does anyone know how to do this or know where to find documentation for this?
