  • German data protection law requires to anonymize the Google Analytics code. How can I do this in Simple Google Analytics.

    If you had to put the code manually into each page it would be

    <script type=”text/javascript”>

    var _gaq = _gaq || [];
    _gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-XXXXXXX-X’]);
    _gaq.push([‘_gat._anonymizeIp’]);
    _gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]);

    (function() {
    var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true;
    ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl&#8217; : ‘http://www&#8217;) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’;
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
    })();

    </script>

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks, Thomas
