How to add wordpress blog to my existing website content?

I’m struggling and having a very difficult time with having my existing template to display blog onto my content. I followed the old instruction of how to integrate wordpress blog into existing website and it didnt work. I’m a programmer and developer but i dont understand why it’s hard for me to upload my theme.
