    Hey everyone, i have been searching hours to able to find the answer. I have found couple plug-ins and they wouldnt help me.

    On settings/reading i choose Front page as a static page (for my recent post), i can still edit my sidebar widgets from appearance/widgets. I cant say the same thing for my homepage widgets.

    After i edited blog-page.php , i was able to add recent comments and other basic widgets using following code;

    <?php the_widget( 'WP_Widget_Recent_Comments' ); ?>

    But since i dont know my other widgets name, i cant use that code.

    all i want to do , add a text widget and custom code inside.

    What version of WordPress are you using?
    What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?
    Always include as much information as possible

    There is no blog-page.php file in the 2011 theme. Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes.
