• Hello, I just updated my plugin to the latest version. The changelog suggests that there is an “Fix – Add retry mechanism for the feed generation.”. My Pinterest feed has been stuck at ” Feed configuration will start shortly.” for the last one week. How could I use this new feature of retrying feed generation? Thank you.

I also noticed that the multiple image option has been removed. Could you please bring it back? Previously every product was showing extra images on the catalog page as is visible on the product page of my website, but now only the main image is visible.

    Hey @vanessa4325

    Hope you are doing well!

Can y ou share a screenshot of “Marketing > Pinterest > Catalog tab”?

also of “WooCommerce >Status > Scheduled Actions tab” click on Pending.

    Best,

    Christian

Hi, Thank you for the reply. Please find the screenshots attached. Apparently the feed generation is happening on the woocommerce status bar but on the plugin’s catalog page its stuck on the screen I shared below for over 10 days now.

    Hey, @vanessa4325 !

Could you show me some pinterest-for-woocommerce-product-sync Logs? You can find them under Logs tab https://yourimageshare.com/ib/EtPf2BjORu I am looking for an error or something which could cause the action to stale.

Also the action name can stay the same but arguments change, could you confirm that the action which is in progress has all the same arguments still? Here, at this image, you can see 0 => 171 which is a batch number. You have plenty of products to process and we can not handle them all at once so we break feed generation into steps and 171 was the number of that particular step https://yourimageshare.com/ib/w3flE9svJn

    Dimitry.

Also, @vanessa4325 , answering your original question: How could I use this new feature of retrying feed generation?

It has no setting to turn it on/off. Retry is done automatically if one of the feed generation step actions will fail for a reason of an error or timeout. The failed action will get automatically rescheduled (retried).

    Thank you, @vanessa4325 !

I can see that the recent processed pinterest/jobs/generate_feed/chain_batch action has a 662 number compared to the 171 it had this morning. This means feed generation is running and proceeding. It is just not super fast. Also, since this action starts every day and proceeds step by step through the whole day, you will always see it in progress and this may make you feel like it is a staled job.

Usually it use to show that the feed generation has been successful but as I mentioned it has been over a week that it’s still stuck on “feed generation will start shortly”.

I also noticed that the catalog pins have only one product image, a few weeks back I was able to see multiple images on the product pins. Has something changed?

    Hi, @vanessa4325 !

Studying your feed generation logs can say once the feed generation finishes it starts regenerating again immediately after. Looks like an infinite feed generation loop which should not happen. That can be a unique combination of plugins you have messing with each other or something else. I’ll try to find out.

Regarding catalog pins have only one product image – we did not change anything to make that happen. Either a part of feed generation problem or Pinterest could change it on their side. Can’t say atm.

Hi, Thank you for checking it. What do you suggest me to do now? I would have deleted the plugin and reinstalled it but it will delete all the auto generated product pins. So I would prefer if we could find a way to fix the current issue. Thank you once again for taking the time to check it.

    Hey @vanessa4325

You can try the following steps:
    1. Go to the Settings tab on “Marketing > Pinterest”
    2. Disable “Enable product sync”
    3. Enable “Erase Plugin Data” and Save
    4. Go to the Connection tab on ”Marketing > Pinterest”
    5. Disconnect your account by clicking on “Disconnect”
    6. Deactivate and uninstall “Pinterest for WooCommerce”
    — At this point, no feed should be present on /wp-content/uploads, no settings on the table wp-options, no Scheduled actions related to Pinterest, and no feed registered on Pinterest—

Then you can try to reconnect your account again.

    Let us know.

    Best,

    Christian

    Hi Christian,

Thank you for the suggestion. Actually thats what I have been trying to avoid as it will erase all of my pins that are populated on Pinterest and my traffic will literally go back to zero. Do you have some other way to fix it? Without removing the already populated data, or some way to save the already created pins? Thank you.
