How to add post count and rating to thumbnail

    Hello everyone. I’m totally new WordPress so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I did a search and found similar topics, but I’m not knowledgeable enough to determine whether my specific question was implied in the other answers.

    OKAY! That being said…

    I want the thumbnails on my homepage to have the post view count and rating. It doesn’t necessarily have to be ON the thumbnail. I suppose it could be below it. The main goal is just to have the info there.

    Now, I know of several plugins that will show view counts and others that will allow users to rate posts. However, it looks like those plugins only show that info on the post itself, and not on the thumbnail. Am I correct in assuming that?

    What do you mean by rating? You can use a plugin to display the post’s view count, but rating sounds like an entirely different thing.

    Try this plugin for the view count: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-post-views-count/
    This plugin says:

    To output in any template file, use <?php if (function_exists(‘GetCounts__SPVC’)) { echo GetCounts__SPVC(); } ?>

    Though please note that we cannot help you modify any commercial theme files.

    Oh, I’m sorry. I should have been more specific when I said ratings. I meant post ratings. So if readers could “like” or thumbs up a post, can I have that info (how many likes, for example) show on the thumbnail, along with the number of views.

    I originally thought a plugin would work but now I’m thinking it has to be part of the theme.
