How to add order notes for each product

I know there’s a way to add a product notes box in the checkout page. I need it available for every item. The website is for a small business/restaurant, and so I need to make sure customers can be like “no tomatoes” for item #1, “no dressing” for item #2, etc. I haven’t found anything that lets me do yet.
