How to add my Top Menu?
-
Hi all,
I have a template installed, that does not “natively supports menu’s”.
How do I create a menu at the top, with simple pull down menu’s?
This is what it says in the back-end menu’s:
The current theme does not natively support menus, but you can use the “Custom Menu” widget to add any menus you create here to the theme’s sidebar.thx

See if that can help you:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/categories-and-pages-as-menu-items?replies=2#post-2414862Hi,
I’ve followed your link, and added the code snippit.
Now, from the back end I have 2 menu’s available, but they do not appear in the front end.
The only thing that appears as “menu’s” are some of my pages (not even all).Once you have registered the menus in your functions.php’s file, for the menus to appear you have to add the reference to the menus in your template files, or to use the menu widget that is available.
You can for example add this to header.php:
<?php wp_nav_menu( array( ‘theme_location’ => ‘primary-menu’ ) ); ?>For more info, visit:
Ok, I more or less understand what you’re writing.
The thing is, when I look in my header.php file, it does not show the usual php code (of which I understand little).
Instead, the file is Locked, and shows this:” />
/styles//logo.gif” alt=”” />
Search the site for…

Subscribe via: ” class=”rss” title=”Subscribe via RSS”>RSS EMAIL
•what does that mean, and what do I do?
thx
What do you mean by “the file is locked”? What do you use to view your files?
Could you provide me with some more info about your website (URL maybe, or the name of the theme you are using)?
I might be able to help from there.
The URL I use is: http://copebcoffeeclub.be
I use the build in text editor from my Mac to edit files
the theme name is “Live Wire 1.4.1”As you can see it looks funny.
thx for your help!
Firefox can’t find the server at http://www.copebcoffeeclub.be.
Sorry. Mistyped the url
just paste below coding into wordpress your theme functions.php file.
<?php add_theme_support( 'menus' ); register_nav_menu('main', 'Main Navigation Menu'); ?>
so now you can see menu option under appearance in wp dashboard. in menu section, you can create menu and customize it.
and
use the below coding for show it in header.php or wherever you want. but change css as per your theme css.
<?php wp_nav_menu( array('menu' =>'Top Navi', 'items_wrap' => '<ul id="menu-primary" class="menu" >%3$s</ul>' ) ); ?>

Live Wire is actually a premium theme from Woothemes. You will be able to get support directly from them at http://www.woothemes.com/support/
I’ll go and check them out.
Usually the WP forum responds faster…
@saranr: pasting your code in the functions.php file results in an error (parse error: unexpected syntax)…
