How To Add Google Analytics Tracking?

  • Using WordPress thru 1&1 admin. Would like Google Analytics to track my Blog.DoDesignDIY.com subdomain.

Where/how can/do I put their script code ‘on the first page of my subdomain’ ? Tried including it in each posting, but that does not seem to work.

  • Usually people put Analytics tracking code into the footer.php file. I believe Google wants it right before the </body> tag.

Alternatively, there’s this rather popular plugin to do it automatically.

PLEASE IGNORE THIS POSTING. 1&1 tech tells me that it is not possible to track my blog that uses 1&1s simple WordPress version. I will consider installing actual WordPress software on my subdomain to allow/enable Analytics tracking.
    Please excuse the ‘wrong number’

Thanks ikurudesign. This will help if I do install WordPress.
