Hello. I’ve been trying for ages to try to resolve this problem so I hope someone can help. I need to import products from different supplies into my woocommerce site. I need to add some extra fields as some supplies have provided additional info which is in separate columns e.g. sizes, selling points, etc.. So my plan was to use Advanced Custom Fields to create ‘additional info’ boxes. But I can’t import the custom data nor can I get a response from their support. (When I export a dummy product from my site to get the correct column headings it doesn’t export the correct data for the field. So unsuprisingly when I use the import feature it doesn’t bring in the correct data either).

I’ve been hunting for another plugin which will let me display general fields which I can use to add extra product info. It needs to be a plugin which let me import and export the custom fields correctly.

  • Did you have the ‘Export Custom Meta?’ box ticked when you exported the products?

I have a fields called ACF-Test and the exported CSV has a column called: Meta: acf-test

    Hi there,

I suppose a simple approach would be to use the short product description field for displaying the info. https://d.pr/i/cjeEGL

Most import / export also support any post meta field (ACF does use them, I think: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/query-posts-custom-fields/). So I would first look for something that can import export additional fields that also maybe supports ACF.

    Hi Sean

Thanks for your response. Yes I just doubled checked and I did click ‘export custom media’. But in the custom fields I just get data like this ‘field_60d1af96e4c82’. The column heading is correct but not the data. I can’t figure this out.

    Hi Con a11n,

Thanks for your response. The suppliers’ spreadsheets have multiple fields that I would need to put in the short description. I am happy to grouping them in the short description but I can’t find an import/export plugin which allow me to map more than one field to one field in woocommerce. Do you know of any?
I’ve tried the built-in importer and I’ve tried Product/Review CSV Import Export by webtoffee.

    Hi again,

I think this is able to do this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-all-import/
You will probably need the pro version though since WooCommerce is not included in the free version.

    Kind regards,
