Thanks. I got the words “List of Authors:” to show up in the sidebar but that’s it. No links and no author listings on the posts. I have selected different authors in my post when creating the posts but that data doesn’t seem to go anywhere.

Thanks again for the link but I don’t see how to access “The Loop” that is referred to on the Codex pages. There is no way for me to edit the template the blog is on.
Are you looking for an author listing in the sidebar? You need to add the widget – go to Appearance > Widget and add the Author List (included in the core WordPress).
If you have a cache, you ought to clear it before you can view updates.

No. No such widget is available in the core WordPress.
