I apologize if this is answered elsewhere. It’s a little tricky to explain, so I don’t know exactly what to search on to find the solution.
When I create a post, I’d rather just type in the categories than go down what is a very long list of categories and subcategories to check them off. (I use cats and subcats more like tags than as categories, so I have quite a lot).
For example, if my tag is ‘barack obama’, I can’t just type ‘barack obama’, because that will create a new category, whereas ‘barack obama’ is actually a subcategory under ‘politics’->’democrats’.
To be balanced in my examples, I often find myself having accidentally added a category ‘george w bush’ even though there is already a ‘politics->republicans->george w bush’ subcategory (or category that is a child of a child, if you want to put it that way).
So the question is, essentially, is there syntax I can use to properly tag the post? Or do I have to go down my list and check it off?
