Support » Fixing WordPress » HOw to Add a Blank Page Template with a simple slide Show

  • Hi. I have going around in circles for the past 2 nights trying to figure this out. (Driving my wife nuts when she wakes up in the morning to take the kids to school and I am still sat at the pooter) I am a noobie wordpresser.
    I just want to create a simple page in my wordpress site that has no header image, no sidebar, and no menu navigation bar. SOunds like a simple request??? I only want to display a simple slide show. I tried downloading plugins to control the content but they seem to get de-prioritized by the theme. SO after reading numerous google pages on creating a blank page to select I still can not display the slide show.
    Can someone please at least give me the complete code i need to insert into the new custom page to upload? If it helps-
    Here is the code of my slide show that needs to trigger the plugin NextGen…..

    <img class=”ngg_displayed_gallery mceItem” alt=”” src=”–655″ />

    Here is the code of my master page in my theme folder….
    <?php get_header(); ?>

    <div id=”content” class=”span8″>
    <div class=”padder”>

    <?php do_action( ‘bp_before_blog_page’ ) ?>

    <div class=”page” id=”blog-page”>

    <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

    <?php get_posts_titles(get_the_title(), get_the_ID());?>

    <div id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>” <?php post_class(); ?>>
    <div class=”entry”>

    <?php the_content( __( ‘<p class=”serif”>Read the rest of this page →</p>’, ‘cc’ ) ); ?>
    <div class=”clear”></div>
    <?php wp_link_pages( array( ‘before’ => __( ‘<p class=”cc_pagecount”>Pages: ‘, ‘cc’ ), ‘after’ => ‘</p>’, ‘next_or_number’ => ‘number’)); ?>

    <div class=”clear”></div>

    <?php endwhile; endif; ?>

    </div><!– .page –>

    <?php cc_list_posts_on_page(); ?>

    <div class=”clear”></div>

    <?php do_action( ‘bp_after_blog_page’ ) ?>

    <?php edit_post_link( __( ‘Edit this page.’, ‘cc’ ), ‘<p class=”edit-link”>’, ‘</p>’); ?>

    <!– instead of comment_form() we use comments_template(). If you want to fall back to wp, change this function call 😉 –>
    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    </div><!– .padder –>
    </div><!– #content –>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>
