How to Add a Banner Ad to the Extreme Left and Right of a Single Page

I want to place affiliate Ads targeted for SPECIFIC Pages.

I came across the function page_ad() here->

But I’m confused. I’m a programming Newbie, how do I target the LEFT and RIGHT hand sides of Specific Pages for Ads?
