How to Access the Image Text Widgets in Home Page Top Area (2 posts)

I *love* Ward but am having the darnedest time trying to figure out how to access the Home Page Top Area, which seems sort of a misnomer because it's not really at the top -- it's the area under the Jumbo Headline, right? Well, by default, it has four circular graphics with text underneath each one. I'm assuming each one is its own widget? If so, when I go into Widgets I see the Home Page Top Area but there is no content in it. Am I in the right place? The instructions on the home page say that "the four boxes below are Image Text Widgets that have been added to the Home Page Top Area" yet there is nothing there. I'm not a total newbie but I'm not a whiz either. I manage several WordPress sites and can usually figure stuff out, but this one is baffling me. Any help would be appreciated.

    1. click on appearance > themes
    2. click on "customize" on chosen theme
    3. you should see a "Widgets: Home Page Top Area" on left column

    that should do it...

By the way, I recommend creating a "child theme" if you have the bandwidth to explore doing this. It is fairly simple and might save headaches down the road.
