How themes work

  • fs_tigre

I have been watching some videos on how to create a theme and I’m still confused, It looks like some tags need to be closed in a separate page, for instance I a div called <wrap-page> was added in the header page and it was closed in the footer page but some of them were closed in the same page, so here is where I’m confused.

How do I know where to close the tags?

Can some explain how themes work?

Normally, one would open a page wrap in the header, and close it in the footer, as these all pages use the same header.php and footer.php file.

So, is this the only tag that will be closed in a different page?

No, but when you look at the full outcome, they all merge together to form one big page. Have a look at the source any WordPress site, e.g. http://www.technofinger.com.
