Hmmm. It doesn’t look like the plugin is turned on or there might be a conflict with another plugin. Are you using the [gallery] short code? Are you using a plugin called Photo Mosaic?

It looks like the plugin is actually working. I would suggest two things: First, try using the beta version of the plugin, and that will fix the thumbnail getting smaller at smaller screen resolutions. You can download the beta here.

I would also suggest changing the image sizes for your thumbnails and then regenerate your thumbnails at the new sizes. You can learn more about that here.

Hi and thanks for the plugin, I have the same problem.. I can’t figure out what’s wrong: http://upstill.ch/gallery/grand-v-rock/

    Thanks

The plugin is actually working on the http://upstill.ch/gallery/grand-v-rock/ page. You can tell it’s working because the plugin is being included in the code and the thumbnails are animated when you resize the window. If you want the images to not be cropped at 150px x 150px, then you have to update your thumbnail size in Settings -> Media. I would suggest 150px x 9999px for the thumbnail size.

Then you will want to download and install a plugin called Force Regenerate Thumbnails and run it.

Now your thumbnails should not be cropped. If you don’t like the new thumbnails, you can always put the default values back in to Settings -> Media and rerun the Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.

    Good luck!

    Hi there,

I didn’t want to create a new thread but I don’t seem to be able to get this to display the gallery.

Do I have to configure my thumbnail settings to use this or should it work ‘out-of-the-box’?

I have several other plugins enabled but don’t seem to be encountering any jQuery conflicts.

    Thanks.

    Hey There,

It doesn’t look like your theme is using the standard WordPress gallery shortcode. I’m not seeing any jQuery conflicts.

How are you exactly inserting the gallery into your site?

    Hi phoenixMagoo,

I have the same problem, the plugin is working, but the masonry effect is not what you would expect.

    the shortcode I’m using is:
    [gallery link="file" ids="334,344,343,335,317,331,330,318"]

Can you take al look at: http://www.studiovsf.nl/fauna/ and perhaps explain what I’m doing wrong.

    Thanks,
    Ruben

Masonry is a really cool concept. It would be awesome if you could create a short tutorial showing your implementation of it with this plugin. There are some things that are not self-evident from the documentation that, if clarified, would help a lot of us get to the finish line faster.

    Eg.:
    1) You say the plugin works with any gallery that uses the [gallery] shortcode. It wasn’t clear to me if that meant I had to find and download another plugin that uses that shortcode or if I should just wrap all my images in it. I did wrap them first, but things weren’t behaving quite as expected, so I wasn’t feeling 100% sure I did it right. I wrapped 10 images that I loaded into a post from the Media library with [gallery][/gallery] and only three of them showed up in the post.

    2) Your suggestion to adjust image sizes to 150×9999 is also helpful – even critical.

    3) In addition you are recommending another plugin to resize images automatically once the dimensions have been adjusted in Media settings. That makes sense.

    4) On top of that, most people are wanting lightbox functionality. That brings it all together. What are your recommendations on that front?

Assuming I’m willing to use 3 plugins to get all this to work, it would be great to have a step-by-step outline and visual examples (arrows and circles pointing to things) to make it clear what’s needed. There are actually quite a few steps involved. Don’t assume anything. 🙂 Not even that people know how to use a shortcode. It’s not your fault if they don’t. Still… the clearer you can make it, the more successful your plugin will be. The plugins I use most are often the ones with the most complete documentation and examples. That’s going the extra mile.

People who’ve made it work seem to love your plugin. The documentation needs to match that quality..imo. And in the end it will save you a lot of time on the forums. Thanks for your efforts and for sharing this great tool.

You are 100% right. I think I’m going to include some screen cast tutorials in the next release. The development is done for 3.0, but I have to update the documentation since I added new functionality. So the timing for this idea is perfect.

I will take your suggestions into consideration when I’m coming up with the tutorials.

Thank you for taking the time to write this comment!

I have stranded at a similar point; I just don’t understand how to actually create a gallery?! Please include a short tutorial on how to get started. Maybe it would be interesting to compare no of downloads and no of plugin in active mode. If I don’t get the hang of it, I just will deinstall and look for something with a less technical user assumption.
