How simple to make a SIMPLE front page?

    I am considering an e-commerce website for my small business, built with WordPress.

    I have NO experience with WordPress; have only ever used Dreamweaver, which is very “from scratch.” I am worried that WordPress will be more complicated to customize?

    Basically, I need it to have lots of pages, product photos, a shopping cart, and, lastly, a blog component. I don’t want the website to have a blog feel at all, EXCEPT on the blog page itself. So, main page: a basic intro photo, links across the top to all the pages of the site, and small description down below to introduce the site.

    I want to design my own graphics, link buttons, etc in Illustrator, and customize the website layout exactly how I want.

    How hard is it to do this on WordPress, as opposed to, say, Dreamweaver?

    create a simple page and set it front page from admin > settings > reading
    and create one page named blog or any, And set them to blog or post page from here.
