How "large" is a "large" site? ie. do I need caching?

  • Hi all,
This might be a stupid question, but quite often I read that YARPP will cause problem with “large” sites… Was wondering what is considered as a “large” blog?

Does it have to do with the number of posts, users, traffic..?

Could you give me an idea, lets say an order of magnitude?

I have just started using this plug in but skeptical about speed and not sure if I need to go into YARRP experiment for caching

    thanks a lot

Some have found that YARPP occasionally has issues with a huge site (not users or traffic) with a lot of data to crawl and with the settings cranked up to the highest (fulltext searching, etc.).

YARPP Pro, however, does not have any issue because all the crawling of pages is done offsite. Something to consider if you think your site is getting too large and things are slowing down.
