  • The “original” size image is rarely used anyway, so it doesn’t really make any difference.

    Just make sure you have your imsanity size limit set to a size that is not too small for big screens Personally I think 2000px is more than enough for just about any screen. But if you have an image that is supposed to fill up the entire browser window (like a full screen header) then you can still add -noresize to your image filename and Imsanity will leave it as-is.

    I was wondering the same thing. In WordPress 4.4 by default max image width for images is 1600px. Does that mean that all new images uploaded, even if it’s 5000px image, will by default be max at 1600px?

    As a safeguard against adding very large images to srcset attributes, we’ve included a max_srcset_image_width filter, which allows themes to set a maximum image width for images include in source set lists. The default value is 1600px.
