I only can see future events on my Archive Page?

I have tried different things like changing the short codes dates, but I don’t see past events yet.

The sking for Archive Page is Full Calendar.

    Could you please help?

    Hi @mmpineda,

    Try it:

    1. Create new shortcode from MEC > Shortcodes > Add New
    2. Set your skin options
    3. Set Date for filter options: Include Expired Events this is screenshot
    4. Set certain start date: https://i.postimg.cc/QCm6NrYt/image.png
    5. Head over to MEC Settings > Archive Pages > Archive Page Skin
    6. Use custom Shortcode: https://i.postimg.cc/02JMqC6g/image.png
    7. Put your shortcode that create on step 1: https://i.postimg.cc/j5F5pWtd/image.png
    8. Save and check your archive page: https://i.postimg.cc/RZgN7pyH/image.png

Thanks, this works… at least for some skins. With some skins the widget doesn’t show up!

Is there any way to make them appear from the newest to the oldest. It appears the other way around.

Also, is there a way to resize the results of any widget? I use Elementor, and it seems to me that I don’t find any small, sizeble event widget.

    Kindest regards,

    Hi @mmpineda,

Please follow the steps explained in this article:
    https://webnus.net/dox/modern-events-calendar/setup-date-option-on-shortcodes/
and use the shortcode on text widgets on the sidebar(s).

We don’t have an option to show events with sorting ascending and descending.

What do you mean “resize the results”?
Image size or each event item result, for example, shows 3 results after a search on shortcodes (it’s inherited from item size limit: #6 on this image).
Please explain your issue, include screenshots, URLs, and any other document so we can understand and check it better.

    Best Regards

    This is what I mean:

Let’s imagine I want to show my next events on my website, so I use any of the the shortcodes… Full Calendar, Monthly View, … there’s plenty to use. Or I can create my own.

I have created a shortcode with a “grid” skin and “clean” style. I like how this one looks to show my next events on my website.

I have only one event in the future, as I’m testing, (and because, maybe I will announce just one event monthly, and never in advance)

What I see is that this view of my future events is really big. Big picture, big fonts, big button… I would like to be able to resize it, to fit in a small corner of my website. (By the way, I use Elmentor page builder).

    Hope it’s clear now.

    Hi @mmpineda,

Could you confirm your issue about the styling?

I test showing events functionality and I can see its work fine for me show past event and future events on shortcode and archive page all of them is OK.

About your issue for styling, please send a live URL from your issue and send screenshots.

We provide the Elementor Shortcode Builder Addon to create a customization for the styles of the events on shortcodes, you can use this addon: https://webnus.net/modern-events-calendar/addons/elementor-shortcode-builder/

Also, you can create a custom CSS and put your own custom CSS on MEC Settings > Custom CSS, please follow the steps explained in this article:
    https://webnus.net/dox/modern-events-calendar/inspect-element/

    Best Regards

Guys it seems very strange to me that you have the plugin default archive page set to only display future events. What is the reasoning behind this? I’ve never seen this before. We have calendars on other websites and there is a lot of value in showing past events on different types of websites.

With “The Events Calendar”, which we use on another website, they just have different styling for past events (faded) on the calendar view. On list view, the main calendar page defaults to starting from today, but you can still go back and see previous events.

I’m using MEC pro on a website now because there are things I dont like about TEC, but this is something that I just can’t wrap my head around. I’ve never seen a calendar anywhere that completely removes past events. It makes it look like there has been nothing going on and from a user standpoint is really odd.

    Hello,

I just wanted to say that I totally agree with “willss”.
I have exactly the same problem, I am facing the exact same situation.

The Events Calendar shows all past events in the search bar without having to create a shortcode and make a different page for it.
To be honest, I don´t really understand why it is like this with MEC.
It is such a powerful plugin, with tons of options and it is hard to understand that a simple action is missing.

Maybe our voice can be heard from the author, it would be great!

Thank you for reading my comment.

I tried using a shortcode for displaying past events but it only is pulling up events from the current month. It isnt going back any further. I tried selecting “Only show expired events” and “include expired events” but both are not going back further than the current month.

    Hi,
I would love to be able to show past events and upload recordings of these. Can you please let me know if this is possible?
    Thanks!
    Julie
