 * The theme is “Twenty Thirteen” – it was downloaded as a new theme from within
   the admin pages for the site.

 * with CSS, you could set a minimal height for the container which contains the
   video background, but this would make problems with the responsive behaviour 
   of the theme.
 * a solution could be to use jQuery to keep the min height of the container in 
   sync with the width – but this is not my area of expertise.
 * maybe the plugin’s developer knows a way –
    possibly ask in the plugin’s forum
