Support » Fixing WordPress » How Edit home page

  • I still can’t figure out this. Spent hours reading the previous posts on setting the front page to Home, etc., in Settings/Reading, and setting the front page to Static. I get that. I don’t have a value for the Front page, and I have not created a home page. I just want to edit the existing “home” or “front” page.

If I look at View Source on, is there a way to determine what the name of this home page is, so that I can edit it in cPanel. It’s not a Page in WP. I do not believe it is a Blog – even so, I can’t determine where the file(s) exist for editing that file.

I apologize for asking this. I just don’t see the file.

I do know that we inherited a Theme, and I’m trying to understand how that Theme is working.

Your site is using the front page as its main posts page (as configured in Settings -> Reading), so there is no “Page” to edit. The front page is generated on demand by WordPress using the theme’s index.php template file and posts pulled from the database.
