    Hi
I have notice that inside my wp-content/Upload folder, WP puts the uplaoded images there. WP creates 3 new images plus the original image (if the original is bigger than the Large dimension, of course). So this = 4 images total.

But is their a way to have my WP not doing this ? Or doing it in a different way ?

I think it is filling up my storage for nothing. Before (and from now one) I am using Photoshop, resize, save for web… then upload via a FTP sotfware… and then find it with “Add a media from library” or direct url link. SO I just have 1 file online and not 4. But hey, it does take longer to do !

    Any help or hints ??

  • Try setting the 3 images sizes much larger than you might upload in Settings/Media.

    you mean unless having like
    150px – 300px – 600 px
I should save my image images in photoshop at maybe 600px, then I should put in WP like
    610px – 610px – 610px
so my “origanl uplaoded image” will always be smaller so no resizing will be done by the system ??

Yes – just as long as you don’t upload an image bigger than 600px, you should be fine. No extra copies should be made.

wow, what a super simple easy way to go beside this… thanks esmi !!
    I will try it
