# How does the WP-Content/Uploads folder work?

 * I have uploaded a video to the “Uploads” folder via ftp, but it does not show
   in the media gallery. Can anyone explain why? How can I access and use the video?
   I have a HD Flv player plugin with many acceptable formats, the video is in .
   mp4 which is permitted by the player.
 * I would appreciate any guidance or help on this one 🙂

   may still work for that
 * WP doesn’t natively recognize any media ftp’d to uploads folder
