How does schedule interval work?

I need help understanding what the “schedule interval” drop down is controlling so I know what to select.
Each week a new reading list post is scheduled for Sunday morning. I’d like to automatically schedule the last week’s post to unstick and fall into its natural order in the posts. I selected “7” days in the “Days after publish” box, but what do I choose in the “Schedule Interval” drop down box? I don’t understand its purpose or what each choice will do.
