Hi, does this have to be a news site to submit new articles?
What is the purpose of this plugin?
Does it help with SEO? Can I use it for any wordpress site to try to get articles indexed faster? They are not necessarily news articles, does that matter?
How does one setup the RSS feed and where? thank you

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Kwestfehling,

    > Does this have to be a news site to submit new articles?

No, but I would recommend timely articles, current in some way or another.

The plug in sets up an RSS feed that is optimized for use in the Google News Publisher Center. There are some particular specs (see: Google News Feed Technical Guidelines) that are required that are not a normal part of most standard WordPress feeds.

It doesn’t really help with ranking in the serps, but it will increase a site’s exposure and visibility on Google. Benefits of being approved through the Publisher Center include giving you some branding options, such as using your own name and logo, and it makes your site a followable news source in Google News.

You would enter the URL for the feed in your publisher center as you set that up, https://publishercenter.google.com,

    Hope that helps,

    Chris
