  • Hi all,

I am using a theme called origin mag from themeforest.net on my wordpress.org site (www.girltalkhq.com) I really don’t want to have to display user/author name on each post, is there a way to customize and get rid of this function somewhere in my CSS?
I apologize if I am not using correct terminology, I’m not that savvy, but i get by!

    Thanks!

  • Unfortunately, the theme creator didn’t make it easy to hide just the author name. If you examine the line under the post title using a web debugging tool like Firebug or Chrome Developer Tools, you’ll see that the author and the post date are combined in one DIV with a class of post-meta. If you wanted to hide both the author and the post date, it would be easy to do, but not just the author.

Edit core theme files . You are looking for post-meta div. Once you find the php code for this div delete the line which shows author name. But if you are not good at coding, I won’t recommend this

If you need to edit core files then consider setting up a Child Theme: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes AND talking to your theme’s authors about this.
