[closed] How do you place text and image on the same height? (13 posts)

    Like you see professional news-sites have. They place a picture within a block of text, and then the paragraph of text shortens itself on the side of the picture, without creating a huge gap.

    Like this: http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=533155 - on the bottom three paragraphs there.

    I want to do this when posting in WordPress. But all I get is just one line of text being able to line up on the side, not several paragraphs.

    This would be ideal when using face-pictures that doesnt have to be noticed, as much as a header picture that might be of the environment instead.

    For instance (I'm sometimes hoplessly oldschool so if there's a newer, better way to do it someone please let ME know too)...

    <img src="picturename.jpg" align="left(or right)" hspace="5" vspace="5" alt="whatever"/>

    And you just stick that within the paragraph you want it in.

    img.rightmargin {
    	float: right;
         	margin: 10px 10px 10px 20px;
    	padding: 4px; background:#fff;
    	border: 1px solid #000;
    	}

    <img src="picturename.jpg" class="rightmargin" title="whatever" alt="whatever"/>

    whooami, how do I apply it?

    I put in the CSS then what? I run a theme, will it automatically be able to insert it?

    And you got the picture code there but how do you input text next to it?

    Can you also make this a left code?

    After everything is done like you say, will it look like this http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10620&Itemid=2

    Where the text just wraps completley around it, continuing the normal way when the picture is ended?

    You're of no help. You can just stop answering. You can't just post a code and expect everyone using wordpress to understand how to use it.

    I can tell you where to put "the code", but I would probably be banned off this site, you smug ass.

    I pasted css. CSS going in your stylesheet.

    You want to use it to align left, you change the instances that say "right" to say left.

    SO you have two new bits of CSS in your stylesheet.

    The rest of your questions are moot. Maybe next time you ask a question, you'll stop and think before trashtalking the very people you want to help you.

    Seems to me, I remember you the same way in some of your other threads too -- I should have ignored you from the beginning.

    Yeah, you're right. I quit expecting anything. I quit expecting that people will take the time to read any of the sticky posts at the top of any of the forums. I quit expecting that they will actually try to LEARN WordPress on their own before coming to these forums to whine about the least little thing, things that even my HUSBAND (and if you knew my husband's skill level with computers, you'd see it for the slam it is) would know about. I quit expecting that they would read ANY of the DOCUMENTATION that is prominently posted on this site. I quit expecting that they would try to search this site for a WordPress-specific problem and the Internet in general for a MySQL, PHP, CSS or HTML question. I quit expecting that anyone would be nice when they ask a question and nicer when they get an answer. I quit expecting that a good majority of the people coming here seeking help with their shiny new toy would be anything but self-absorbed, impatient, insufferable, uninformed Luddites with a sense of self-entitlement the size of god's.

    Mods: you can delete this now. I feel better. But not much.I quit e

    Amen to that. Couldn't say it better myself...
    (and no, I will not delete it - I will just close this thread. The answer has been given, so there is no reason to keep it going.)
