  • Google for favicon

Getting the icon was easy, moshu– but I can’t figure out how & were to install it.

FavIcon says to upload the favicon.ico to the folder on my web site where I have the web page, and then to add the folowing HTML tag after the <head> tag, before the </head tag:
    <link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”favicon.ico” >

    A) which folder do they mean? My root directory? Or the directory with my web address name: jayjerome.com?

    The tree looks like this:
    Root/ Maildir
    jayerome.com
    logs
The tree for jayjerome.com looks like this:
    Jayjerome.com/
    wp-admin (folder)
    wp-content (folder)
    wp-includes (folder)
with a lot of WP files below that, including wp-blog-header.php — which doesnt seem to be the one they say I have to change.

Which folder do I upload the icon file to?
What file do I need to edit with the HTML changes?

    (whew… i’m tired just rereading what I wrote; hope I don’t give whoever reads this a headache)…

Actually your “functional” root is the jayjerome folder. So, yes, put the thing there 🙂
I use the following in the header.php of my theme:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php echo get_settings('siteurl'); ?>/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

    Thanks! You’re the BEST.
Now I have my first ‘monogrammed’ blog icon!
