Support » Installing WordPress » How Do You Change the Default Settings?

  • promo73

Hi. Yes, before you say it..I install WordPress a lot for a lot of different people so I know how to actually change the settings once it’s installed. What I’m looking to do is alter my copy of wordpress (here on my hard-drive), so that when I upload it, the “default” settings are actually MY default settings.
E.G. Options>Reading> Show at most: 1 posts (instead of 10)….
Since I do set up all the blogs the same way, this would save me a lot of time.
All pointers would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the wp_options table in the WordPress MySQL database?

Or to keep it separate, you could always run your own php script after installing, just like how you run upgrade.php
