How do you add the slider above the twentyfourteen child theme?

Before upgrade to 4.11 slider was working but after upgrade it stop working. I have since uninstalled and re install it without any success.
Can someone please give clear instructions how to make it work with TwentyFourteen Child theme?
I have this code
