Gee, a very crucial step, mysteriously unaddressed anywhere...

not unaddressed, they just missed describing one bit. the short code is given quite clearly as [ nggallery id=x ] (use without the spaces) but they neglected to state clearly that the id needed to replace the "x" is not the name of the gallery but the single numeral id that is auto created for each gallery in order. thus your first gallery has an id of "1". check your gallery's id in the Manage Gallery section, it's the first column on the left.

Unless youre asking in regards to PHP template, in which case it would be the handy <?php echo do_action("[nggallery id=x]"); ?>

So, how do we add albums to pages?

Same way but with the album short code

[ album id=x template=compact ] For just the feature thumbnails

[ album id=x template=extend ] For with thumbs and gallery description
