  • It uses the sitemap protocol which uses the Sitemaps XML format, not a flat file.

    Use your browser to load http://YOURDOMAIN/sitemap.xml and you will see what I mean.

    Yeah. If it is not creating a file, you may need to look at your server permissions. I would love to know if you got this fixed. I will take a look at better error reporting if it has an issue…

    If you are on a multisite, it will create a file that uses the site’s directory name or url with the “.xml” extension, so multiple sites don’t overwrite each other.
