  • We recently launched our test website for our local newspapers ( and we would like each town’s page in the Local News dropdown menu to display the list of posts (with a thumbnail and excerpt just like the Local News section at the bottom of the main page) below an image of that newspaper edition and a brief text description. Basically like a category page with a sticky post (that we can put a small border around and make a gray background for) and update each week to change out the image of that week’s newspaper.

We are currently using the Genesis framework with the News theme. We were able to display categories on pages when we were using the Responz theme from Themify, but that feature is not a part of the theme we are using now.

Should we look for a plugin that will display more than just a list of articles, or is there a way we can enter code to draw in the posts from a specific category on the page for that town or is there another better solution? What’s the easiest way to accomplish this for each of the towns’ pages?
