How do I view statistics

    How do I view statistics for my site. I saw on WordPress.com they can view stats but on my own hosted wordpress site I cannot see a tab to display such thing. I tried adding Jetpack but it asks for a wordpress.com name which I dont have. What is my best option for seeing views,popular posts,etc.??? Please help
