Can’t figiure out how to get rid of the comments windows underneath my pages which are there to give information. I only need my blog to be open to receive comments.

Edit the page and uncheck ‘allow comments for this post’.

Or remove the call to <?php comments_template( '', true ); ?> in the page template.

Thanks, I did uncheck the comments box but still see the comments window on the page.
Plus where do I find the page template and that piece of code?

You did it for the specific pages?

Well. Know how to edit your theme? There should be a page.php file. Make a child theme – http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes – and pull that over to edit it 🙂
