How do I "switch on" the breadcrumbs plugin for my pages and portfolio?

Hi there,
I feel like complete noob, but I do see the breadcrumbs in my widget, but I do not see my breadcrumbs at the top of my page or portfolio. How do I switch that on? Is there maybe a tutorial or something like that on this?
