How do I stop a p tag inserting itself where it is not wanted?

    Hi,

    I have this in a page ‘<!–linksdropdown–> ‘ but WP insists on putting it in a paragraph tag which is not wanted.

    I have turned off all text formatting put still it inserts.

    Any suggestions?
